Mike Zimmerman is a writer of short stories and poetry, as well as a high school teacher in Brooklyn. His previous work has been published in The Florida Review, CutBank, A&U Magazine, Gival Press, and elsewhere. He was the recipient of the Oscar Wilde Award from Gival Press and was feature in Florida review’s Queer Folio. He has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize, Hewitt Award, and Monarch Literary Award. He is currently seeking representation for The Nest, a literary novel about a journalism student who returns to his hometown to document the closing of its only gay bar.
